Perry's General Merchandise

"Perry's was built in 1906 located on Riverside Avenue. It provided the space for Sartell's first Post Office in his General Store and Ice-Cream Parlor. Ralph Perry later opened a bar on riverside Avenue called Perry's Bar."

The Watab Hotel

"The Watab Hotel stood on the north corner of what is now 2nd and Riverside Ave North. This was built by the owners of the mill. It had 20 rooms and lavatories and two bathrooms, one on each floor. It also had a large lobby on the east side and was equipped with steam heat and electricity. Besides housing it also had dances and other social get together until it burned down around 1920"

The Watab Hotel was built in the early 1900's . It was located across the street from the west end of the Mississippi River Dam. It was originally built to host the people working on building the dam. The hotel could accommodate 30 people. In later years the new owners changed the hotels' name to the Alpine Hotel to reflect their ownership. The hotel burned down around 1921.


The Lackawanna Hotel

"The Lackawanna Hotel was located on the corner of Fourth Street and Highway 10. It provided accommodations for people passing through town. The owner Harold Laughlin was an engineer for the Northern Pacific Railroad. Being a railroad man the hotel was named after the Lackawanna Railroad"
